CAGE - Coddington Against Gravel Extraction
  • 1

C.A.G.E.

Coddington Against Gravel Extraction is a community action group serving Coddington and Newark residents. We are strongly opposed to the proposed quarry at Coddington, and are extremely concerned:

  • By the additional and unacceptable demands it will place on the already inadequate road infrastructure, leading to increased traffic congestion on the minor roads as well as on the A17, A46 and A1.
  • By the risk to health associated with poor air quality, noise and light pollution as a result of the quarry’s close proximity
  • At the catastrophic environmental threat posed to Stapleford Wood and the associated negative impact on the local water table.

We are canvassing support to campaign against the quarry on the basis that its proximity to the village and impact upon the village and indeed the town is disproportionate to any assumed commercial benefits.

If you wish to support us in this campaign, please contact us or alternatively sign either our physical or online petition.
